For Mr Cohen

“Here at the border the leaves are falling, and you, you are a thousand miles away. But there are always two cups at my table.”

Heartfelt thanks Mr Cohen. I will hold your words close. And sympathy to your family and to your friends.

No more words, not just now.

Thanks Marc….a death to be mourned certainly. I heard his letter to Marianne this morning, written at the time of her death earlier this year….I had tears in my eyes.

It said “Well Marianne it’s come to this time when we are really so old and our bodies are falling apart and I think I will follow you very soon. Know that I am so close behind you that if you stretch out your hand, I think you can reach mine.

And you know that I’ve always loved you for your beauty and your wisdom, but I don’t need to say anything more about that because you know all about that. But now, I just want to wish you a very good journey. Goodbye old friend. Endless love, see you down the road.”

    • Hello Richard
It’s a beautiful letter from an amazing person.
What a sad year its been for losing icons – as well as all the thousands of ‘unknowns’ not that I ever knew Mr Cohen, or David Bowie et al. The endless cycle goes on but sometimes, some years it somehow seems more apparent, less kind to us all.
Anyhow take care – do miss seeing you and so many Southampton friends. Think I need to make a road trip in 17!!
      Love
      Marc
